A few days ago, one of my second cousins past away unexpectedly at the age of 50. His name was Gerard Di Schino. I had never met him, and had only really heard of him in passing from my dad. For most of my life I haven’t made it a priority to get to know most of the east coast Di Schino’s. I’ve come in contact with a couple just by nature of having this domain and website, but I haven’t actively sought out making a trek back east. Not for any good reason, mostly just out of lack of motivation, and laziness, and a sense of distance. I’ve always had good intentions about it, but have never made the time to do it. So I ask myself, why not now? Of course, the easy answer is that I’m busy raising 2 girls with my wife, and that it would probably be best put off for a few years (until its not so crazy to travel with young ones). Of course, delaying a few years could have the same effect if another relative passes that I have never had the chance to meet.
From what I can tell, Gerry was a pretty popular guy based upon all of the nice notes people are leaving on his website. I extend my condolences to his family.
